4.3 Earthworks

In addition to questions concerning the improvement of the resilience of earth structures to natural hazards, Technical Committee 4.3 "Earthworks" focuses in particular on the identification of technologies and innovations in their construction and maintenance. The knowledge gained within the framework of this work will then also be incorporated into the further development of the Earth Work Manual, which will be made available in an updated and expanded version. (extract from the Strategic Plan)

Technical Committee 4.3 "Earthworks" Chair

With more than 42 years of experience in the earthmoving industry, Patrick Boisson (France), Deputy Managing Director of a major French construction company, is very involved in the Association. He was an associate member of the PIARC technical committee "Rural roads and earthworks" during the 2016-2019 cycle. Patrick has been appointed Chairman of the "Earthworks" committee for the 2020-2023 cycle.

Interviewed during the meetings to launch this cycle in February 2020 in Marne-la-Vallée (France), Patrick explains the objectives of the 4.3 "Earthworks" committee.
