3.3 Asset Management
Technical Committee 3.3 "Asset Management" develops, implements, and integrates an asset management framework based on ISO 55001 so that road organizations manage their performance, risks, and costs more effectively and efficiently. The results of the study will bring a guideline for implementing the asset management system. Notably, a web-based asset management manual will be updated through the survey among HMLICs. Extensive efforts are made to explore not only asset management but also the resilience of road networks and renewal and rejuvenation of aging infrastructure. (extract from the Strategic Plan)

Interview with Gerardo Flintsch
Technical Committee 3.3 "Asset Management" Chair
With more than 32 years of experience in the fields of road asset management and pavement engineering, Gerardo Flintsch (USA), professor and director of a division at the Virginia Tech Transportation Institute (VTTI), is very involved in the Association. He was an associate member of the PIARC Technical Committee on "Surface Characteristics" during the 2008-2011 cycle and English-speaking secretary of the "Road Asset Management" Committee for the 2012-2015 and 2016-2019 cycles. Gerardo has been appointed Chair of the "Asset Management" Committee for the 2020-2023 cycle.
Interviewed during the meetings to launch this cycle in January 2020 in Marne-la-Vallée (France), Gerardo explains the objectives of the committee 3.3 "Asset Management".
