International Webinar "Intelligent Access Policies for Road Freight Transport"

27 January 2022, organised from Paris (France)

On 27 January 2022, CEDR and PIARC jointly organized a webinar to share knowledge and experiences on Intelligent Access Policies for Road Freight Transport with experts from all over the world. This was an occasion to discuss application range and opportunities Intelligent Access can provide to develop more sustainable and safe freight transport. Intelligent Access is a logical consequence of the rapid development in the digitization of traffic and logistics and the ambition for more data-driven asset management and enforcement.

Summary of the Webinar

To attract a wide range of experts from different parts of the world, the webinar took place in two sessions (one in the morning and one in the afternoon, European time). Each session lasted for two hours. The first hour was set aside for presentations aiming to bring the knowledge degree of all participants to the same level. In the second hour a panel discussion took place, for which the composition of the moderator and panellists differed between the morning and afternoon session. The questions asked to the panel members were the same in both of the sessions. For information about the speakers, moderators and panel members, see the synthesis document.

The webinar was attended by road authorities, policy makers, regulators, truck and trailer manufacturers, logistics service providers, haulers and shippers, among others. The goal was to get a better understanding of the full potential of Intelligent Access on a global scale.

Amongst the proceedings you find the webinar's presentations as well as the recording of the webinar's morning and afternoon sessions (soon available).
