2.3 Freight

Technical Committee 2.3 "Freight" focuses on vehicles overloading and its related consequences. Road freight transport is heavily depending on fossil fuel and this Technicak Committee will also investigate the strategies and measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions of road freight transport. It will take into account the potential of new technologies onto logistics and transport services of goods. (extract from the Strategic Plan)

Technical Committee 2.3 "Freight" Chair

With more than 25 years of expertise in the fields of logistics and freight transport, Martin Ruesch (Switzerland), civil engineer, is very involved in the Association. He has been a member of the Swiss National Committee since 2005. He is also a member of the PIARC technical committee "Freight Transport" since the 2005-2007 cycle. For the 2016-2019 cycle, he has been appointed president of this committee. A renewed appointment for the cycle 2020-2023

Interviewed during the meetings to launch this cycle in January 2020 in Marne-la-Vallée (France), Martin explains the objectives of the 2.3 "Freight" committee.
