PIARC is pleased to announce the publication of Bulletin 1, the first official information booklet for the XXVIII World Road Congress, which will take place in Vancouver, British Columbia (Canada), from 4 to 8 October 2027

The booklet provides an overview of the Congress programme, key themes and practical information for future participants. With the Call for Papers deadline approaching, it also offers a timely reminder that there is still an opportunity to contribute to the Congress by submitting an abstract.

Held under the theme "Paving the Road to a Cleaner Future", the Congress will bring together road administrations, policymakers, researchers, industry leaders and practitioners from around the world to exchange knowledge, share innovative solutions and discuss the future of road infrastructure and road transport.

What can you expect from the Congress?

The Congress will showcase the outcomes of PIARC’s 2024–2027 work programme through a comprehensive technical programme, including plenary sessions, parallel sessions, workshops, technical visits, poster sessions and an international exhibition.

The Congress’s strategic focus is structured around four key themes:

  1. Road Administration
  2. Road Mobility
  3. Safety and Sustainability
  4. Resilient Infrastructure, with Decarbonization as a cross-cutting priority

Together, these themes will explore how the road sector can deliver safer, smarter, more resilient and more sustainable transport systems while responding to evolving mobility needs and global climate challenges.
