The 10th Symposium on Pavement Surface Characteristics – SURF 2026 will bring together experts, researchers and professionals from around the world in Tokyo from 9 to 11 November 2026 to share their experiences, discover the latest innovations and discuss current challenges facing the sector.
The 10th Symposium on Pavement Surface Characteristics – SURF 2026 will take place at Congress Square Haneda in Tokyo, Japan, from 9 to 11 November 2026.
Under the theme “Driving Innovation of Road Surface Characteristics and Social Interaction”, the 10th edition of SURF will explore developments and innovations in pavement surface characteristics, as well as the challenges associated with their interaction with society’s evolving needs

SURF 2026 is organised by the Japan Road Association and the SURF 2026 Organising Committee (PIARC Japan), with the Japan Road Contractors Association as co-host and PIARC – World Road Association and the Japan Society of Civil Engineers as co-organisers. The symposium is sponsored by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT), Japan.
