Vancouver 2027 World Road Congress: Call for Papers Now Open

Preparations for the XXVIII PIARC World Road Congress continue to gain momentum, and the Call for Papers is now officially open. Road professionals, researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and industry experts from around the world are invited to submit abstracts and contribute to the global exchange of knowledge that will shape the future of roads and road transport. Accepted papers will be presented during the Congress and will also be eligible for consideration for the prestigious PIARC Prizes.

Taking place in Vancouver, Canada, from 4–8 October 2027, the Congress will bring together more than 5,000 delegates from over 120 countries under the theme Paving the Road to a Cleaner Future. The programme will feature technical sessions showcasing the work of PIARC's Technical Committees, keynote and plenary sessions, foresight discussions on emerging trends, ministerial sessions, workshops, poster sessions, technical visits, and a major international exhibition. Discussions will focus on the sector's most pressing priorities, including resilience, decarbonization, road safety, sustainable mobility, asset management, digital transformation, and the future of road infrastructure.

The Congress will also provide exceptional networking opportunities, bringing together governments, academia, industry, international organizations, and young professionals to exchange ideas and build partnerships that will help shape the next generation of transportation solutions.

Registration for delegates is expected to open in November 2026, with additional information on fees, accommodation, and the full technical programme to be announced in the coming months.

Organizations interested in showcasing their products, services, and innovations are encouraged to contact the Congress organizers as soon as possible to secure exhibition space. The exhibition is expected to feature more than 300 exhibitors and over 35 national pavilions, making it one of the premier global marketplaces for the road and transport sector.
