The XXVIII World Road Congress will take place in Vancouver, Canada, from 4 to 8 October 2027. PIARC has officially launched its Call for Papers covering 57 topics that will contribute to the Congress program.

All practitioners, policymakers, researchers, and industry professionals from the road and transport sector are invited to submit abstracts in English, French or Spanish.

Authors are invited to present case studies, practical experiences, research findings, or innovative approaches related to the road and transport sector, with a focus on sustainability, resilience, digitalization, safety, and mobility.

Papers may be submitted in English, French, or Spanish. To facilitate the review process, authors are strongly encouraged to submit their papers in English.  

Submissions should not exceed 400 words. Contributions must be original, unpublished, and directly related to one of the topics included in the Call for Papers. Commercial or promotional content should be avoided, including the use of brand names in titles or abstracts.

Abstracts will be reviewed by the relevant PIARC Technical Committees. Authors will be notified of Abstract acceptance by 15 November 2026 and selected contributors will be invited to submit a full paper before 31 January 2027.

XXVIII World Road Congress

The World Road Congress is a flagship international event built on more than a century of PIARC expertise, bringing together road and transport professionals from around the world. Since 1908, PIARC has organized this global Congress every four years to foster dialogue, knowledge-sharing, and international cooperation across the road sector.

The XXVIII World Road Congress will be held in Vancouver, Canada from 4 to 8 October 2027. It will include more than 50 sessions, a large exhibition, technical visits and social activities.

Vancouver 2027 will offer a unique platform to exchange experiences, showcase innovative solutions, and discuss the major challenges shaping the future of road infrastructure and mobility worldwide.
