Registration is now open for a new professional development opportunity through the PIARC Road Academy: the Work Zones Safety and Management Training Course.
This six-part international training series offers a unique opportunity for road authorities, practitioners, and professionals worldwide to strengthen their knowledge and skills in the safe and efficient management of road work zones.
The course will run monthly from June to November 2026 and will be delivered in English, French, and Spanish, with additional language support available.
Why this course matters
Road work zones remain one of the most critical challenges for road administrations worldwide, directly impacting:
- Safety of road workers and users
- Traffic management and network reliability
- Overall road network performance
To address these challenges, PIARC has developed an Integrated Framework for the Management of Road Work Zones, based on Management of Road Worksites Special Project.
This framework draws on international research, a worldwide practitioner survey, and multiple real-life case studies, providing practical, tested solutions to improve work zone safety and operational efficiency.
