Call for Abstracts: PIARC World Bridge Conference "Managing Bridges for Society" is open!

The PIARC World Bridge Conference- Managing Bridges for Society (BEAM 2027) will be held in Marrakech, Morocco, in 2027. The event is hosted and supported by the Ministry of Equipment and Water – Morocco and the BEAM2027 PIARC Committee, co-organized by PIARC and by the Moroccan Permanent Association of Road Congress.

This conference will convene the global bridge community in Marrakech to share knowledge, highlight innovation, and shape the future of bridge engineering and management to meet society’s evolving needs. Researchers, infrastructure owners, asset managers, academics, and industry professionals will discuss key challenges and emerging solutions shaping the sector.

We are pleased to announce that the Call for Abstracts is now open. Proposals will be accepted until 1 June 2026. Experts from across the bridge community are invited to share their work and contribute to the programme.


Conference Topics

We welcome submissions across the following themes:

  • Innovation and digital transformation for advanced bridge management
  • Advanced bridge design and construction, based on experience in managing existing bridges
  • Bridge rehabilitation balancing engineering innovation and societal needs
  • Enhancing bridge resilience and structural redundancy
  • Risk assessment and decision making in existing bridge engineering
  • Strategic bridge projects for regional integration, connectivity and economic growth

Submission Timeline

1 June 2026: Abstract submission deadline

1 September 2026: Notification of abstract acceptance

30 November 2026: Full paper submission deadline

15 February 2027: Notification of paper acceptance


How to Submit

Authors are invited to submit their abstracts for BEAM2027 through the official conference platform

Submissions are limited to 400 words and must be in English or French.
