Almost ten years ago, I stepped into the PIARC world – and what a journey it has been! From the very beginning, I realized that PIARC is more than an organization; it is a global community united by a shared purpose: improving roads and transport for people everywhere.

My three years as Technical Advisor at the General Secretariat in Paris were transformative. Working at the heart of PIARC gave me a deep appreciation for the power of collaboration and the richness of diverse perspectives. Since then, I have maintained close contact with PIARC and in 2024, I was appointed as German member to the Communications Commission (ComCom). A year later, I took on the role of ComCom Vice-Chair. These roles have taught me that communication is not just about sharing information – it is about connecting people, building trust, and inspiring action.

The Communications Commission plays a vital role in this mission. We work closely with the General Secretariat to foster cooperation and knowledge exchange with regional and international partners. We aim to transfer knowledge efficiently, boost member participation, and publish impartial, engaging content on road and transport issues. These goals drive our work.

Networking across borders is not a luxury; it is a necessity. Every conversation, every handshake, every exchange of ideas strengthens the foundation of international cooperation. In a world facing complex challenges in mobility and infrastructure, our ability to work together determines our success.
