  • Definition : All the equipment at a road check point used to automatically sort properly equipped commercial vehicles approaching at highway speeds, in order to identify those that meet the conditions for passing through and reduce the risk of congestion. Notes: 1. As the vehicle approaches the roadside check facility, the facility communicates with the vehicle's management subsystem to obtain an instant readout of critical data on the carrier, vehicle and driver, in order to identify and isolate vehicles that do not meet the conditions for passing through. 2. A roadside check facility may be equipped with a device for automatically identifying vehicles, an emitter-receiver and transponder, a weight sensor and a work station reserved for data processing [OQLF].
