Definition : Collection of non-binding recommendations for actions for the 21st century in the fields of sustainable development, the eradication of poverty and exclusion, production and consumption, sustainable agriculture, governance and decision-making, and environmental protection, which began as a declaration in Rio de Janeiro in 1992. Note: Agenda 21 also proposes to introduce sustainable development indicators and implement local Agendas 21.
