  • Definition : Transport system consisting of a fleet of semi-slow or non-motorized individual vehicles distributed between public transport stations or interchange points, which ensure transport tailored to wide-ranging requirements in time and space in good economic conditions, in addition to services provided by public transport systems, particularly in sparse areas or during hours of low demand. Note: these systems can be very simple, from a fleet of hired or loaned bicycles, managed manually by ticket clerks, to high-technology ITS systems, such as fleets of radio-equipped electric vehicles supervised by centralized electronic management and a number of relay stations (recharging terminals, radio terminals and non contact cards).
