Term of the Road Dictionary

peak hour traffic

  • Language : PIARC Road Dictionary / English
  • Theme : Operations Traffic Traffic Engineering
  • Definition : Highest volume of traffic measured during a day for a period of one hour. Note: usually two peak hours are considered: "morning" peak hour and "evening" peak hour.
  • Synonyms : rush hour traffic

Hauptverkehrszeit

  • Theme : Betrieb Verkehr Verkehrstechnik
  • Definition : Höchstes Verkehrsvolumen in einer Stunde im Zeitraum eines Tages. Anmerkung: üblicherweise wird mit zwei Hauptverkehrszeiten gerechnet: "Morgenspitze" und "Nachmittagsspitze".
