  • Definition : Tunnel where the headroom is reduced from the normal traffic envelope. Notes: 1. Low-clearance tunnels are usually restricted to passenger cars (possibly vans and light buses). The headroom is reduced and usually the width of the lanes is also reduced. 2. As an example, three standard low clearances are defined in France: . type A: 2.00 m headroom with a minimum lane width of 2.80 m; . type B: 2.70 m headroom with a minimum lane width of 3.00 m; . type C: 3.50 m headroom with a minimum lane width of 3.50 m.

  • Definition : Tunnel mit einer für den Normalverkehr reduzierten Durchfahrtshöhe. Anmerkungen: 1. Tunnel mit einer niedrigen Durchfahrtshöhe sind üblicherweise nur für Personenkraftwagen zugelassen (möglicherweise auch Vans und Kleinbusse). Die Durchfahrtshöhe und üblicherweise auch die Fahrstreifenbreite ist reduziert. 2. Als Beispiel sind in Frankreich drei Standards für Tunnel mit niedriger Durchfahtshöhe definiert: Typ A: 2,00 m Durchfahrtshöhe mit einer Mindestfahrstreifenbreite von 2,8 m Typ B: 2,70 m Durchfahrtshöhe mit einer Mindestfahrstreifenbreite von 3,0 m Typ C: 3,50 m Durchfahrtshöhe mit einer Mindestfahrstreifenbreite von 3,5 m.
