  • Definition : Explosive release of expanding vapour and boiling liquid following the catastrophic failure, due to an external fire, of a pressure vessel holding a pressurized liquefied gas such as liquefied petroleum gas or compressed natural gas. Note: the event may result in fireballs, blast, projectiles and possible toxic vapour cloud.
