  • Definition : Vertical retaining structure for excavations, consisting of metal piles inserted in boreholes and sealed at the bottom, between wich wooden boards metal panels or concrete shells are placed from top to bottom as excavation work proceeds. Note: the piles are kept in place by anchor ties or strap beams [DICO-TP/PIARC].
