TF 2.2 Electric Road Systems (ERS)
There is a need for decarbonizing the road transport all over the world both for freight and passengers. ERS is one possible solution for diminishing the carbon footprint. Task Force 2.2 "Electric Road Systems (ERS)" plays a leading role in exchanging knowledge and experience in ERS globally, addressing as well road operation, road safety, road maintenance and cyber security aspects. Task Force 2.2 "Electric Road Systems (ERS)" Chair
Jan Pettersson (Sweden) has a civil engineer degree from the Royal technical university in Stockholm, and degree within Hydro Power and Geotechnics. He works as a Director at the Department for Strategic Development at the Swedish Transport Administration while also being the Head of the Swedish national program for electrification of national roads. He has a long experience as Executive Director for both roads and railways regarding maintenance and operations. It is his first time working with PIARC.
Interviewed during the kick-off meetings of Task Forces 2.2 and 4.1 in November 2020, Jan explains the objectives of Task Force 2.2 "Electric Road Systems".
