PIARC contributions to COP28

PIARC contributed to the ongoing conversation about the importance of climate change adaption at the November 2023 COP28 in Dubai

At COP28 in Dubai in November 2023, PIARC contributed to the ongoing discussion on the importance of adaptation to climate change through its Technical Committee 1.4 on Climate Change and the Resilience of Road Networks, led by Caroline Evans (Australia)!

PIARC was featured in the “The Climate Resilient Infrastructure Report: A focus on nature”, produced by the International Coalition for Sustainable Infrastructure (ICSI). PIARC’s International Climate Change Adaptation Framework is highlighted as a key way for road organisations to assess and manage the impacts of climate change on their network in a flexible but targeted method.

>> Take a look at the report, with PIARC’s contribution on pages 78-80

Caroline Evans also contributed to the article “Measuring Resilience: A Guide to Tracking Progress”, where PIARC Climate Change Adaptation Framework is presented.

PIARC will continue to assess further collaborations and contributions with other partner organisations to ensure our work is highlighted and beneficial – if you wish to discuss this please contact Jenny Cook in the PIARC General Secretariat.
