Year 2023 promises to be very rich in developments. In October we will hold our XXVII World Road Congress. The first Congress delegates have already registered to take advantage of the early bird rate, and authors are finalising the submission of their papers. With nearly 40 varied sessions presenting PIARC's work over the past four years, achievements of our partners, papers from our international call for papers, and numerous national pavilions and other exhibitors, Prague will definitely be the place to be from 2 to 6 October.

In parallel, we are preparing our next work plan, which will start in 2024. The leaders of our Technical Committees met in Bilbao at the end of January to discuss their best practices and also the avenues to explore. We are therefore entering the phase of refining the guidelines which were adopted by the Council last October, with subjects such as resilience and decarbonisation taking centre stage.

Finally, the desire to meet face-to-face continues unabated. PIARC's international seminars are following one another in this very active first half of the year, you will find in this newsletter quick reviews of recent seminars, and invitations to register for the next ones!
