PIARC organizes an International Seminar on "Asset Management for Rural and Low Volume Roads"

Santa Cruz de la Sierra (Bolivia), 24 - 26 May 2017

The World Road Association (PIARC)'s Technical Committees D.1 "Asset Management" and D.4 "Rural Roads and Earthworks", with the Plurinational State of Bolivia, organize an International Seminar on "Asset Management for Rural and Low Volume Roads" in Santa Cruz de la Sierra (Bolivia), from 24 - 26 May 2017.

The main objective of the Seminar is to provide a common platform for experts to share experiences and discuss issues and challenges related to planning, provision and maintenance of rural roads in a sustainable manner.

Innovations regarding the involvement of local communities in the processes are also part of the overall objective of the seminar.

It will gather national and international representatives of public and private organizations and will foster dialog and exchange of knowledge, ideas and experiences related to management of road assets, rural roads and low volume roads, use of local materials and others for the stabilization of soils. It will address problems of interest for low and middle income countries.

The official language of the seminar will be Spanish with simultaneous translation in English.
