Traffic Control, toll and Road Information

Drafted by the PIARC Technical Committee on Roads in Urban Areas, this report aims at illustrating the possibilities offered by new technology, especially within the electronics industry, for a more satisfactory operation of the existing road capacity. Through better regulation, control and information to road users (and perhaps also through a reduction of the traffic by the use of tolls), it is possible to increase the capacity of the existing roads.
