  • Definition : Pavement combining surfacing and even base materials of different kinds in order to clearly indicate the different usage areas to users. Note: flexible, rigid and modular materials are frequently combined, along with patterns ("hard landscaping") designed to delineate spaces in harmony with the surroundings (buildings).
