Secretary General of PIARC

It seems relevant to mention two recent technical meetings. The SURF conference, organised by Politecnico di Milano with the support of ANAS, brought together more than 300 people from 12 to 14 September in Milan to discuss pavement surfaces and road asset management. The French PIARC National Committee organised a seminar on winter service which attracted more than 60 French experts to Chambéry on 26 and 27 September.

Through the richness of the exchanges they generated, these two events, among many others, once again demonstrated two essential points. The first is that the road community is very active; it addresses the many issues that make it possible to improve roads and the services they provide, thus responding to society's complex expectations. The second is that face-to-face meetings allow for incomparably rich and fruitful discussions.

This is why PIARC is very pleased to invite you to a number of other events in the coming weeks: the SARF conference in Cape Town, our tunnel conference in Grenada, and many others. Find out about upcoming events here
