One of the main missions of the World Road Association is to disseminate knowledge. To this end we publish online manuals.
Four online manuals are currently available, on Road safety, Tunnels operations, Road network operations and Intelligent transport systems, and Asset management. A fifth one is being prepared, on Risk management. They are excellent resources, and provide a comprehensive overview of their topic, in addition to regular technical reports. What's more, they are well structured in chapters and offer numerous case studies as examples...

PIARC and TRB organize the webinar: "Addressing Road Safety Worldwide: Vulnerable Road Users, Human Factors, and Road Safety for Low- and Middle-Income Countries". It will take place on Monday, April 9, 2018 from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM ET and will highlight perspectives from around the world about vulnerable road users, human factors, and road safety.

Technical Conference on "Containment Systems in Bridges"
Madrid (Spain), 6 March 2018
The Asociación Técnica de Carreteras (ATC) and Spanish National Committee of PIARC held in Madrid with great success the Technical Conference " Containment Systems in Bridges" attended by 240 participants from the public and private sector. This meeting aimed to review the situation of the equipment of the bridges and, in particular, that of the containment systems in the road safety of the infrastructure.

Chihuahua (Mexico), 22-25 August 2018
Mexico has an extensive road network which requires preservation, modernization, new road sections, security and safety plans in order to increase the competitiveness of the economy, boost national and regional development, extend communication and eliminate the isolation of communities. That is why the Mexican Roadways Engineering Association organizes this meeting where national and international experts will discuss the main challenges that the road sector faces. This event is going to take place in Chihuahua city on August 22nd - 25th, 2018.

Kajsa Ström is a young professional seconded by the Swedish Transport Administration. She began her new position as a Technical Advisor at the General Secretariat in the beginning of February 2018.
