Infraestruturas de Portugal took part in the International Workshop on Resilience to Climate Change, organised by PIARC – the World Road Association. IP’s vice-chairman, Rui Coutinho, took part in the panel discussion ‘Resilient Infrastructure: Prepare, Adapt and Invest’, which focused on the challenges that climate change poses to transport networks. “Extreme weather events are now a reality in our operations and maintenance work and require an increasingly integrated approach to infrastructure management. It is essential to anticipate risks, strengthen the networks’ capacity to adapt, and invest in resilient solutions that ensure high levels of safety, the ability to respond to emergencies, and the continuity of mobility services for people and goods,” he emphasised.
