The International Transport Forum (ITF) at the OECD organized the 4th High-Level Regional Dialogue for Asia in Tashkent on November 11. The event brought together representatives from governments, international organizations, the private sector, academia, and transport corridor stakeholders from across the region. These discussions will inform the ITF's work on freight resilience and fluidity and contribute to the preparation of the 2026 ITF Summit. The 23rd Ibero-Latin American Asphalt Congress (CILA) was held from November 17 to 21, 2025, in Asunción, Paraguay. The 10th International Conference on Road Safety and Simulation (RSS2026), chaired by Alfonso Mortella, will bring together experts from around the world to discuss the theme “Advancing Towards the Safe System Approach.” PIARC will be involved in this conference with Committee 4.6 "Road Design Standards", notably through a workshop dedicated to the “PIARC Safe System Approach,” presenting the new features of the fourth edition of the Road Safety Manual and their practical applications, as well as a special session on the safety effects of geometric design decisions. >> More information about the Conference here

The 2025 Annual Session of the Indian Roads Congress (IRC) was held in Bhubaneswar from November 7 to 10. The event brought together government representatives, engineers, researchers, and industry experts to review advances in India's road network and reaffirm the IRC's central role in developing national policies, standards, and research guidelines. The session was attended by Dharmananda Sarangi, one of PIARC's Vice Presidents. It should be noted that Rahul Gupta, Secretary General of the IRC, is a former technical advisor to PIARC. Annual statutory meetings in Goyang
The Association brought together the National Committees and the Council in Goyang (South Korea) from October 26 to 28, 2025, in coordination with the REAAA conference, illustrating the country's dynamism and the excellence of its relations with PIARC. These meetings, which are essential for an organization comprising 128 countries, provided an opportunity to address administrative issues and to:

- Share best practices between National Committees (running a road association, organizing seminars, etc.) - Encourage the translation of PIARC technical reports - Review the progress made by the 23 Technical Committees - Launch the overhaul of the distribution policy, with new tools and media under consideration - Discuss the preparation of future congresses - Appoint Miguel Caso Florez as Secretary General for a four-year term - Confirm PIARC's involvement in the HDM tool
A thematic workshop also enabled the Council to review the results of recent “special projects” on protection systems for motorcyclists and road construction site management.
