Review of UK skid resistance policy

In 2004, the Highways Agency therefore commenced a review to examine all aspects of the skid resistance policy. This paper describes the results of the accident analysis, which has led to a revision of the site categories and ILs and changes to the way that potential maintenance schemes will be evaluated. A database of pavement condition, road geometry, traffic flow and accident data for English trunk roads was constructed for an accident analysis.
