With consultative status to the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations, the Association is contributing to a stable and sustainable global development of the road and transport sector.

The Austrian model of network-based motorway financing

Austrian interesting example of road financing via a state-owned entreprise. The Austrian model combines a self-supporting infrastructure provider that is not included in the government's budget and that uses private sector business practices, with public sector oversight and interest rates. In addition, this public corporation is also experimenting with public-private partnerships (PPPs).
