Expert System for the Identification of Appropriate Logistics Areas in Austria

Freight transport and logistics services represent a crucial element for the entire value chain. In order to support the function of the logistics industry, it is necessary from an economic, ecological and social point of view to provide areas with optimal preconditions. It is therefore essential to identify those areas that offer the best framework conditions for freight transportation and logistics services with minimal conflict potential to existing sensitive areas (residential areas, healthcare facilities, nature reserves etc.). A transparent methodology for identifying the most appropriate locations is of central importance in this process.
