  • Definition : Platform to which all in-vehicle electronic systems are connected, and which acts as an interface. Notes: 1. The basic vehicle platform includes the embedded computer, electronic circuits, software, communications protocols and radio frequencies used by the vehicle. It acts as an interface, in particular for driver assistance systems, audio or video systems for the comfort or entertainment of the driver and passengers, and all other electronic devices on board the vehicle that are not necessarily ITS-related. 2. In an ITS architecture, the basic vehicle platform is a terminator [OQLF].
