French drain

  • Definition : Drain formed of a trench typically 1 m deep containing a porous, perforated or open-jointed pipe laid on, and backfilled with, a porous material. Note: the drain is used either for both surface water and subgrade drainage (''French drain'', typically 0.6 m wide) or for subgrade drainage only (''filter drain'', typically 0.15 m wide).

Sickergraben

  • Theme : Straßen Straßenentwässerung
  • Definition : Aus einem Graben gebildete Entwässerungseinrichtung von etwa 1 m Tiefe, die eine durchlässige, perforierte oder offenfugige Röhre enthält, die in offenporigem Material verlegt und damit hinterfüllt ist. Die Einrichtung wird sowohl für Oberflächenwasser (Breite 0,6 m) als auch für die Untergrundentwässerung (Breite 0,15 m) verwendet.
