In summer, ambient temperatures can exceed 40 °C, causing asphalt pavements to suffer from rutting and blistering. Various studies highlight that local journeys of less than 80 km are responsible for 70% of emissions, 80% of which occur in urban areas, and more specifically in the outskirts of metropolitan areas.
