Composition

The Council shall consist of:

• members designated by the various member countries,
• the Immediate Past President,
• honorary members,
• former members of the Executive Committee who have held office for a continuous period of six years and
• Presidents and Secretaries General of the World Road Congress and the International Winter Road Congress up until 2004.

Representatives from member countries

Each member national Government shall be entitled to nominate at least two members to the Council.

Moreover, it may designate a certain number of additional members to the Council taking account of the total subscription or other contributions (including the value of the seconded staff to the PIARC General Secretariat) by the country concerned and by its nationals. The mode of calculation is determined by the Council.
