PIARC and the Road to Decarbonisation

As part of PIARC’s Decarbonisation Week (5–11 May 2025), we are proud to highlight the Association’s many initiatives and resources that support the transition to a low-carbon road sector.

Road safety and sustainable mobility in rural and interurban areas: a case of Senegal

Taking place from 14 to 16 May 2025 in Dakar, the seminar is organized jointly by the Ministry of Infrastructure, Land and Air Transport (MITTA) of Senegal and the Senegalese National Committee of PIARC, in collaboration with the Association of African Managers and Road Partners (AGEPAR). The event will be attended by the experts from the PIARC Technical Committees 2.2 “Roads for Equity, Accessibility and Mobility in Rural and Interurban Areas” and Technical Committee 3.1 “Road Safety”.

New edition of the PIARC Road Dictionary – Now featuring Catalan!

We are pleased to announce that the PIARC Road Dictionary is now available in Catalan, the official language of the Principality of Andorra, a valued member of PIARC.

Paving the way to a greener future: PIARC Conference on Road Decarbonization – Vienna 2025

Meet us at the conference scheduled to take place on 7-9 May 2025 in Vienna, Austria. Practitioners of road administrations, mobility providers and construction industry leaders are called upon to address the cross-cutting topic of decarbonisation.

Mastering Road Disaster Management: Enhancing Coordination, Cooperation and Diversity in the Modern Era

Japan Road Association (JARA) together with the PIARC Technical Committee 1.5 “Disaster Management”, are organising a joint international workshop, in collaboration with the Road Engineering Association of Asia and Australasia (REAAA). Supported by Hanshin Expressway Group and Hanshin Expressway Research Institute for Advanced Technology, the meeting will take place in a hybrid format on 27 May 2025 in Osaka, Japan.
