PIARC will present its work on Autonomous vehicles and Big Data at the ITS World Congress 2017 in Montréal

Montréal (Canada), 29th October - 2 November 2017

In line with its strategy to reach out to its partners and to share its results widely, the World Road Association (PIARC) will actively take part in the ITS World Congress 2017 which will take place in Montréal (Canada) from 29th October to 2nd November.

PIARC is indeed the organizer of the two following sessions:

  • SIS 97 - "Autonomous vehicles: road authorities and network managers' perspective", 1st November 2017, 15h00 - 16h30
  • SIS 120 - "Low cost ITS and Big data: a new approach of road network operations?", 2 Nov, 11.45 - 13.15

Speakers include representatives from the General Secretariat, PIARC Committee B.1 "Road Network Operations/Intelligent Transportation Systems", PIARC Task Force B.1 "Road Design and Infrastructure for Innovative Transport Solutions", among others. These sessions will be great opportunities to learn more about PIARC reports and current activities and to engage with PIARC experts.

PIARC's Technical Committee B.1 will hold its fourth meeting in Montréal

In conjunction with the ITS World Congress 2017, PIARC Technical Committee B.1 will hold its fourth meeting.

PIARC experts will in particular progress their work on the issues of low cost ITS and big data in road transport. They will also continue improving the PIARC Road Network Operations & Intelligent Transport Systems Online Manual.

Further detail is available in PIARC's 4-year Strategic Plan. It covers years 2016 to 2019 and encompasses 22 Committees or Task Forces, including Committee B.1 on Road network operations / ITS as well as Task Force B.1 on Road design and infrastructure for innovative solutions.
